ELEA GOLF CLUB

Elea Golf Club is located just off the highway on the way to Paphos. It is the newest course in Cyprus opening in September 2010. Designed by Sir Nick Faldo

and his design team it has a fascinating layout making best use of the landscape. The course circulates through stands of mature carob and olive trees with outcrops of limestone striking a contrast with the deep green of the grass fairways and semi roughs.

The clubhouse is very impressive with layered terraces overlooking the course. As you would expect there is a bar and restaurant offering excellent food.

I had the pleasure of playing the course two weeks after it opened and I must say that it is one of the best I have played. Distances to the green are marked on sprinkler heads of which there are many, so no real need for a stroke saver. The greens were extremely fast giving me a feel for the sort of greens the professionals putt on every day. There are two practice areas: one for short game and the other for driving, and naturally a putting green all are adjacent to the clubhouse. To book a tee time:   +357 26 202001
