Melanda is a small beach just outside Pissouri. To find it take the old road towards Limassol where it is sign-posted. Melanda is in a small sheltered sandy bay with shallow clear water. The taverna provides a few sunbeds. The taverna's speciality is fish and seafood and it is a popular venue, particulary with the locals on Sundays.
Pretty views, always reminds me a bit of Shirley Valentine!
Lara beach is in the Akamas peninsular nature reserve located north of Coral Bay. Lara beach is one of the many beaches where the turtles come to lay their eggs and as such is classed as a nature reserve. To get to Lara you will need to go off-road onto a dirt track that runs along the coastline for a few miles to a small taverna overlooking Lara Beach. A little further along the coastline from the taverna is a lovely sandy bay with crystal clear sea. To get to this beach you will have to navigate through the maze of dirt tracks north for about half a mile, but it is well worth it. There are no facilities at either beach.
Coral Bay is located north of Paphos and is extremely popular. It has a sandy beach in a sheltered bay with crystal clear warm shallow sea making it perfect for children. The only down side is the rows and rows of sunbeds.
The beach can be found quite easily on the old road towards Limassol, set beneath the archaeological site of Kourion. You will often see hang gliders taking off from the cliffs. It offers flat sand, just right for building sand castles, and warm shallow sea that is perfect for young children.
